Minha Yang
Minha Yang questions about the false abstraction in digital media. Those ornate replicas of nature armed with an oriental sensibility are in fact, the shadow of the real; nonetheless the digitalized media impress the audience with its mysterious beauty. The artist not only talks the perverted truth but censure the distorted mindset within the satire in his recent works. He ridicules its followers indirectly while being fooled by the anthropomorphic remnants created by the technological civilization, but the host and subject of the work are dismissed. Perhaps the discourse cannot be laughable for everyone as black comedy, but his experiment is intended to generate a genuine communication with the audience and also with digital media. The artist studied industrial design at Seoul National University and graduated Seoul National University Graduate School. Currently as a professor, he is teaching design at the Graduate School of University of Seoul.
