A project team named ‘Melona’ is about to wake languid spring in April as if it is “stirring Dull roots with spring rain”(quoted from 'The Waste Land' by T.S Eliot)
'fragile-meissen: Why do you hit me?' by Kim Joon announces spring while fragile bodies covered in flowers and birds are overlapped by mixing in compulsion and desire from the artist.
On the one hand, 'Never forget', 'Paddy field ground', 'Hut', 'Blue Sky' sketch the joyful scenery like a daydream in the middle of a spring afternoon. Artists’ imagination and their daily lives over planting fields, the sky, small towns in the countryside invite us to verdant lane surrounded by skyscrapers.
The relaxing spring of a middle aged artist, Kim Joon and the spring season among 20’s artists, who are continuously looking for the right path in their life, respectively communicate with various audiences at different ages by their distinct gaiety.

Artwork
fragile-meissen: why Do you hit me?
Kim Joon, 2010, 3D animation
Through 'Fragile'series, he empties his body which was the subject of desire and people standing in front of his work are brought into the artwork. This series makes bodies out of fragile porcelain in order to get rid of any desire that reminds us of human flesh, although it consists of imaginary bodies. Bodies covered in tattoos are feebly scattered after they are no longer the subject of desire and then they are not able to crave for anything.
However, we might happen to lie down in our own weak and empty bodies and look for another tattoo in our minds. 'fragile' aims to wake new lives while it blends our memories and desire as like spring rain stirs dull roots.

Look at unfamiliar things in unban spaces.
That is great if you think ‘hum, this artwork doesn’t fit with its landscape at all’ as you see it.
