This May, COMO presents 《Just KIDding》 by Byul.org. Ever since it was formed in 2000, as a creative collective Byul.org has been remarkably active in design, album producing, art directing; transcending the boundary between genuine and commercial. The daily lives and emotions of people living in modern times are set as the themes for Byul.org works.
In this exhibition, Byul.org uses familiar images such as heart, water drop, spark, lightning etc. to display various emotions such as happy, sad, hurt, love etc. Through characters with mischievous child-like facial expressions, the true emotions that we as adults cannot easily portray anymore are presented straightforwardly just like children. At COMO, the city gallery which can be accessed easily as you pass by Euljiro, visitors can encounter various characters and get a chance to rediscover the emotions in life, hidden within each facial expression.

Water and fire, the emotions like love, the world we live in and the elements that form our lives are visualized as mischievous child-like facial expressions on the main characters. (...) We place the focus on symbolically showing how 'your life and world', in which we are the main characters, is connected to others to make relationships. Just KIDing may be interpreted as 'just joking', but it also contains the meaning of 'become like kids'.

〈Artist Profile〉

'Byul.org' began in 2000 from a drinking night out among friends. The group has been in charge of many designs, including the 50th Venice Biennale Korea Pavilion, Art Sonje Center, Ilmin Gallery, Seoul University Gallery, Gwangju Biennale, Atelier Hermes etc., and has worked with various fashion brands including JUUN.J, SONG ZIO, JAIN SONG, BEAN POLE, FUBU. They have been irregularly releasing the 'Monthly Vampire' magazine along with the personally composed/recorded albums, and were also in charge of the music for the movie 〈Take care of my cat〉. In March 2012, their album titled 'Secret Stories Heard from a Girl in an Opium Den' was released with a local label in the US and Europe. As a team of seven with art director Tae Sang Cho and software developer Wall Cho as the central figures, their works are unconstrained in genre and cross the boundaries between commercial and non-commercial.
